What No One May Have Told You About Obeying God

2 Corinthians 10:6, “And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” God will avenge the devil for you, but your obedience needs to be complete. God is eager, waiting, excited, ready to revenge ALL disobedience, but the condition is that your obedience is complete and whole! How do you react when given instructions by God either through His Word or through the lips of those He sends your way? Do you do it all? Do you possess child-like faith and believe God and do it as He says?

Did you know that the Word of God is so simple that many times we are too complicated in our thoughts to accept its simplicity? God is ready to revenge all disobedience, when your own obedience is fulfilled. You need to obey God’s Word to the letter. Make sure your part is played well. Check your heart of hearts to see if you are completely obedient. Another translation says, “when your obedience is complete.” Until your obedience is complete, God may not move. Let me give an example of what it means to obey God completely. Philippians 4:6 (Berean Study Bible) says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” If you pray and present your supplication to God, but not with thanksgiving, your obedience is not complete. If you pray and present your requests to God with thanksgiving but done in anxiety, then your obedience is still not complete. You need to break down that scripture God has given you as revelation and obey each one to the letter. If you will be anxious, don’t pray because that’d be incomplete obedience. If you will pray without thanking God, then don’t. All I’m saying here is to take God’s Word as exact as He says it, as simple as it may sound. Sometimes the devil makes us think, ‘is it that simple? But 2 Corinthians 11:3 (Berean Literal Bible) says, “But I am afraid, lest by any means, as the serpent in his craftiness deceived Eve your minds might be corrupted from the simplicity and the purity in Christ.” Yes, it is that simple. Let your obedience to God’s Word be complete. You know within your heart if your obedience to all God reveals to you to do is complete. If you will deceive anyone else, don’t deceive yourself and you cannot deceive God.
The devil and his cohorts are the disobedient ones and God will avenge your cause and judge him, but all God needs from you is that your own obedience is complete. I cannot emphasize this enough.

Another verse of scripture where we can display complete obedience to God is found in John 15:7, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” Yes you may be trusting God for your own babies, but Jesus says if you abide in Him and His Words abide in you, He says ask and it will be done for you. To abide means to act in accordance to. The question is, “Are you abiding in Him? Are you acting according to His Word? Are you trusting in the shadow of His wings? Are you making Him your Rock and Fortress? Is He your strong refuge? Is He the only One you run to? Have you made His Word your final authority? He is a jealous God and His Glory will He never share with anyone else! Do you have other alternatives in case this God doesn’t answer or He is too slow? Do you trust His Word that says all things work together for the good of them that LOVE HIM and are called according to His purpose? There are several questions to ask so you can be sure you truly abide in Him, for until obedience is complete, our God to whom vengeance belongs may not avenge all disobedience that have refused to let you go. When all your ways please the Lord, He can’t withhold good from you. It may not be easy to get all these overnight. Even generals of Christ ensure they watch their hearts, actions, thoughts consistently so that they are properly taking heed of how they stand, so as not to fall.

Start where you are and ensure you are getting better by the day. Go back to God any day you miss it and ask forgiveness aiming to do better the next day. God remembers that we are still flesh and His arms are always open wide when we are sincere. I pray God has mercy and for every act of obedience you’ve shown toward Him, that He rewards you. Amen.

Stay Blessed and Fruitful.
